Thanks to local birding experts, you are able to get a close view of these birds through the refuge’s annual Guided Shorebird Walk series. All tours will start at the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center (3395 U.S. Route 20 East, Seneca Falls, NY 13148) and guests will carpool/caravan to the viewing sites. The third annual Wine Symposium of the Finger Lakes, which is scheduled for August 21-22 in Geneva, New York, is intended to celebrate the growth and success of the Finger Lakes’ wine industry, and help build on that energy to keep the local industry moving forward.
The event lineup includes a Grand Tasting on August 21 at Geneva’s lakefront Visitors Center during which the winners of the 2015 Finger Lakes AVA Riesling Challenge will be announced. Symposium events on August 22 will include an opening session with a panel of wine experts followed by seminars aimed at giving wine enthusiasts a better understanding of the offerings of the Finger Lakes Wine region.
The event continues on Saturday with Winemakers Lunches hosted at downtown Geneva restaurant venues, and a “Red, White and Blues” street tasting on Linden Street where wineries are invited to pour a vinifera red and a vinifera white wine or sparkling wine at 6pm.
