April 2nd – April 3rd Maple Weekend with Smokey Hollow Maple Syrup8597 Pierce Road, Jordan, NY. Come celebrate Maple Weekend! Pancake Breakfast April 2nd & 3rd – 8:30 am to 1 pm.

Menu: coffee, orange juice, pancakes, home fries,sausage, real maple syrup.

Fee $6 per person. Kids under 5 yrs old free

From 10AM – 4PM come learn about making maple syrup – maybe wax on snow, maple granulated sugar, maple cream, other maple products. All new this year: demonstrations will show sap gathering the old way with buckets to the more modern tubing and vacuum system. Smokey Hollow also has an evaporator with an energy efficient steam system, and a reverse osmosis system. Offering maple popcorn, maple soft ice cream, maple cotton candy, and molded maple sugar.

April 9th Raise a Glass to Riesling: Single-Vineyard Riesling Experience, 9224 State Route 414, Lodi, NY. April 23rdCreating a Butterfly Habitat, Sterling Nature Center, 15380 Jenzvold Road, Sterling, NY. Learn how and get started building your own butterfly habitat with a PowerPoint presentation followed by the planting of flower seeds to take home with you. Supplies for the program will cost $10 per participant and includes a 10 peat pellet greenhouse which you will plant two sets of five different butterfly attracting plants. This mix will give you some easy to grow plants, some that will bloom this year and others that will bloom year after year. Please pre-register for this program by April 18th. April 24th – 26th & April 29th — April 30th –  Wine & Herb Festival, Cayuga Wine Trail.  If you have a green thumb, and even if you don’t, you definitely don’t want to miss our 24th Annual Wine & Herb Festival. Build your garden full of fragrant herbs and veggies. You’ll receive a wine glass, a garden plan and a plant carrier at your starting point winery plus potted herb or veggie plants from each of the 16 participating wineries.

As you savor herb-prepared cuisine, you’ll be offered a wine that compliments that dish and be able to take home the recipes, so that you can be the highlight at your next get together. You’ll also be offered up to 3 additional wine tastings. Click here for more information!

On Saturday, you can start at 9am at both King Ferry and Long Point wineries only.


Each ticket is good for the whole weekend, to visit each winery once.
Single tickets are $40 and include: 1 souvenir wine glass, 1 herb or veggie plant, 1 garden plant, 1 plant carrier, and  1 recipe collection. You will also get 1 wine and food pairing at each winery and up to 3 additional wine tastings per winery.

Couple’s tickets are $60 and include: 2 souvenir wine glasses, 1 herb or veggie plant, 1 garden plan, 1 plant carrier and 1 recipe collection.. Each person will get 1 wine and food pairing at each winery and up to 3 additional wine tastings per winery.

Discounted designated driver tickets are available. The DD gets all the same perks as a regular ticket, minus the wine.  They also get a DD travel mug, rather than a wine glass. $20 for a single, $50 for a couple. A couple’s DD ticket consists of one person who drinks and one person who does not. Be sure to buy your tickets early, we have a limited amount available per weekend.

April 30th Table Top Day, 15380 Jenzvolt Road, Sterling, NY. In honor of International Tabletop Day the Sterling Nature Center is hosting its fourth annual Board Game Extravaganza. This program is open to the public and board games will be provided or you can bring your own. This is a great opportunity to have fun with your family & friends while seeing what new or old games others are playing while enjoying the scenic beauty of the Sterling Nature Center.
