Sept. 30th – Oct. 2nd34th Annual Great Downtown Ithaca Apple Harvest Festival, 171 E M.L.K. Jr. Street, Ithaca, NY. The 2016 Apple Harvest Festival hosts plenty of apples, local produce, fresh baked goods, family entertainment at every turn, games, rides, prizes and live performances on two stages. Oct. 1st – Oct. 2ndThe Great Cortland Pumpkinfest, Courthouse Park, Cortland, NY.

The festival offers something for everyone! Crafters, Children’s Games, Entertainment, Food, 5K Race or Walk, Antique Tractors, Hay Rides, Tons of Pumpkins, Exhibits and Displays. Oct 1st – Nov. 26thThe McKenzie Tour at Finger Lakes Distilling, 4676 State Route 414, Burdett, NY. The tour lasts approximately 60 minutes and consists of a brief introductory video, a walking tour of the distillery, a sampling of three spirits, and a complimentary Finger Lakes Distilling glass. The focus of the tour will be on the production of McKenzie Whiskeys – grain handling, processing, fermenting, distilling, and barrel aging – though other spirits will be covered, as well. Oct. 8thBristol Mountain Fall Festival, 5662 Route 64, Canandaigua, NY. 10 am – 5 pm. The
hills are alive with vibrant colors during a Finger Lakes autumn. Take a scenic Sky Ride to view the peak fall foliage, enjoy live music by local bands at the base area and at the summit, and visit wine, beer, spirits and food vendors along with unique craft vendors. If you don’t want to ride to the top, take a hike up the mountain where you can still enjoy a spectacular view of the surrounding hills. October 21st – 22nd Haunted History Tours of Auburn, Seward House Museum, 33 South St. Auburn NY 13021. Costumed guides take guests around the Seward House grounds and to the gates of Fort Hill Cemetery, sharing macabre tales of Victorian funeral practices, spectral encounters from Seward family lore, and other spooky accounts drawn from folklore and history. 6:00 and 7:00 pm. Oct. 22ndOld Fashion Halloween, 6880 East Lake Road, Auburn, NY. 11am-4pm. Admission: Free (donations accepted) Bring the little ones to the Museum/Ed Center for an afternoon of old fashioned fun and entertainment. Visit the haunted herb garden or partake in the many activities for young and old. Face painting, coloring contests, pumpkin carving and much much more. All children are invited to come in costume and participate in the Grand Parade that will take place at 3 PM sharp. There will be Trick-or-Treating for all youth 12 and under throughout the museum. Costumes will be judged and prizes will be awarded.

Oct. 22nd Chestnut Festival, Goose Watch Winery, 5480 State Route 89, Romulus, NY. Each fall we harvest the chestnuts grown right at Goose Watch Winery and host one of the biggest, most delicious celebrations of the year! Come enjoy LIVE music while you sample a variety of foods made from our own chestnuts. Enjoy a tasting of our wines and warm mulled wine and be sure to leave room for BBQ food from Thurston’s & ice cream from Cayuga Creamery! While you’re here you can also have fun playing lawn games while overlooking the beautiful fall foliage on Cayuga Lake! There is no admission fee with wine and food items available for purchase.
