Sally’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

Here’s the recipe for Sally’s famous chocolate chip cookies that our guests have loved since 2007! And that’s my mom Sally baking them in the photo.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 Cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 Cup softened 2 sticks butter (do not substitute)
  • 3/4 Cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 Cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 Cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

IN LARGE BOWL BEAT UNTIL CREAMY:

  1. 1 Cup softened (2 sticks) butter (do not substitute)
  2. 3/4 Cup granulated sugar
  3. 3/4 Cup packed brown sugar
  4. 2 tsp vanilla extract

TO LARGE BOWL ADD ONE AT A TIME:

  1. 2 large eggs

GRADUALLY BEAT FLOUR MIXTURE INTO WET INGREDIENTS:

STIR IN:

  1. 2 Cups chocolate chips
  2. 1 Cup chopped nuts

  3. DROP BY ROUNDED TABLESPOON ONTO UNGREASED COOKIE SHEETS. BAKE FOR 9-11 MINUTES. COOL ON BAKING SHEETS FOR 2 MINUTES THEN TRANSFER TO WIRE RACK TO COOL COMPLETELY.
